Matthew Schure is retiring as president and CEO of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine effective June 30, 2014.
Schure has led the osteopathic medical school since 2001.
During his tenure, PCOM expanded its City Avenue campus in Philadelphia and opened a branch campus in Georgia.
Paul W. McGloin, PCOM?s board chairman, said Schure ?helped position the college for long-term success in fulfillment of the institution?s teaching, research and service missions. He is leaving the college in good fiscal health, giving it the strength to negotiate the challenges impacting all institutes of higher learning.?
PCOM?s board of trustees has hired a national search firm and formed a search committee to identify candidates to become the next president of the college. Board member Thomas J. Gravina, executive chairman and co-founder of Philadelphia-based GPX Enterprises, will serves as chairman of the search committee.
