Pasco teacher charged with drunk driving in golf cart

A Pasco County high school teacher was arrested and charged with driving a golf cart while under the influence of alcohol this morning.

Jamie Marie Wichmanowski, a physical education teacher at Anclote High School in Holiday, was seen driving a golf cart on the sidewalk near Randee Road and Moon Lake Road in New Port Richey without headlights around 12:57 a.m., according to the Pasco Sheriff's Office.

The deputy described Wichmanowski, 29, of 8247 Royal Heart Drive, as having bloodshot and glassy eyes. Wichmanowski was made to perform field sobriety tests in which she did poorly, according to the arrest report.

Wichmanowski refused to take a breathalyzer test, deputies said.

The school's website lists Wichmanowski as the coach of the varsity cheerleaders.

She was taken to the Land O' Lakes Jail and was released at 9 a.m. on her own recognizance.
